Hello Newton Cousins!
After searching for dates when the weather is cooler AND kids are out of school
AND hotels in the area weren’t expected to be full with other activities
going on......it appears that our reunion will be SATURDAY, JULY 31, 2010 at
Jimmy’s and Karen’s homestead. If possible we hope that you can
plan for a two day reunion and let’s have a great showing of Jim’s
and Blanche’s family at the BIG NEWTON REUNION on Sunday.
I know it’s hot at that time of year but some who wish to attend the
BIG NEWTON REUNION on Sunday, August 1, 2010 are getting enough age on them
that they simply can’t make two trips to this part of the country within
several months of each other. I know I couldn’t if I had to travel to
get here!
The house will be air conditioned and there’s plenty of room to spread
out inside if you wish. The kids really enjoyed being outside last year, especially
riding in the boat with Ward. They also enjoyed the animals. Jimmy and Karen
now have two horses, two donkeys, and bloodhounds that they are breeding.
We hope all can come about 10:30 or 11:00 a.m. with your covered dishes and
we’ll try to eat around 12 or 12:30. Then we can enjoy the fellowship
as long as we like during the afternoon.
We hope that the younger generations will come so memories of the Newton family
can continue on with them. Those of us who are the “older” generation
have such fond memories of visiting at Grandma’s and Granddaddy’s
that we want our younger folks to have some of that too.
So, let your children, grandchildren....your whole family....know that we would
love to see them and get to know them. [This is only going to the grandchildren
of Jim and Blanche so please let your family know about this.]
Also, Ward has set up a Newton website and would like pictures and any other
information you might have about the family. So bring pictures of your family
(older ones and newer ones). He plans to try to scan them in so you can take
them back home with you. Check out his website at www.newtonville.us
